A hundred percent pass rate is reason to celebrate and on Saturday the Angels will be descending on Franschhoek to have fun and to be rewarded for two years' hard work and excellence in education.

The 2012/2013 cycle of the Media24 Rachel's Angels Mentorship Programme involved twenty Western Cape schools and the University of Stellenbosch.

The programme is named after Prof Rachel Jafta, who, together with her team of trustees and Koos Bekker, initiated the idea of senior learners receiving guidance in life skills and self-esteem from senior university students.

On Saturday Jafta, accompanied by her board of trustees and representatives of Media24, the University of Stellenbosch, mentees and Super Mentors from the programme, will be amongst the brightly-dressed guests at an Evening of Colour to be held at Allee Bleue Estate.

Appearances by dancers from the recently held Cape Town Carnival as well as a Salsa group and Cappuccino, the band, will add to the flair of the evening.

The night, hosted by Elana Afrika-Bredenkamp as master of ceremonies, is about celebration and awarding those who've worked so hard during the past cycle.

Awards that will be made include amongst others, the best school, best mentor, best mentee and the school showing the best progress. The 2014/2015 cycle is already in progress.
